So! My computer's not a new computer anymore, and I want to back up the entire thing to SOMEWHERE. I don't have an external hard drive, so I thought I might try the cloud. After clearing sufficient space on my hard drive, I used sysinternal's Disk2vhd to create a VHD image of the whole computer, so that if this current machine ever stops functioning, I could retrieve this image and keep my files. I've got a fast enough internet connection to make this feasible. However, I've run into the problem of where to upload this thing to. Instead of paying a premium for extended space, I found the biggest, seemingly best cloud utility I could, Yunio. 1 TB of free space off the bat, with a special promo slowly adding 9TB as you begin using it up, and it also seems that your account gets 1GB more each day, on top of that. However, the filesize limit is 5GB. I've considered splitting the file with 7zip, but I only have 1TB of space on this hard drive, and I don't have room for one non-split 370GB file as well as one split 370GB file. The same problem pops up when I think of how I'd encrypt it (again, with 7zip), because I just don't have enough space on my drive to play around with two copies of this file. I'd like to know if there are any solutions/alternatives, short of buying space or an external hard drive, since my budget is very tight at the moment.
*Other cloud storage utilities with at least enough free space for me to store one disk image (because Yunio does seem kind of untrustworthy, and I've read some substantiating information to that effect), and/or no file size limit
*An application with the ability to split/encrypt a file without making a copy (clearing the original data as it goes)
*A method to subvert this file size limit
*A better solution than my admittedly not-so-economical VHD method
Thanks for reading this!
