help on how to get rid of an os

I bought a netbook asus eee 900 16 ssd drive 4 ssd drive slave

it has joli os which I do not want

I want to put wattos on to save power

or ms7

I would to use a sd card

it there a Linux free os that is better for this purpose (saving power) please let me know


I have 2 gb of mem
