Win7 / HDD issue

Hi guys,

I'm not sure whether this would be best in th HDD section or the Win7 section so I took a guess and here we are..

A customer knocked over their PC and the hard drive has been terribly slow ever since ie logging in then leaving the pc overnight to get to the desktop.

The hard drive has been replaced and the machine is working fine, but they are missing some data from an application on the old disc.

I need to boot the hard drive to windows to be able to log into this application, export the data manually then I can transfer it to the new disc, however I dont have access to the PC it came from as I am off-site.
Because of this I need to boot windows into safe mode as i dont have drivers installed for other hadware.

I have a sata to usb converter which works fine - I can see the disk and browse its content as a drive from my machine. I can boot to the drive which technically works, but after choosing which resoource to boot from, it only give me the options for Start Windows Normally, or Use a Repair Disk.

After I boot to the drive, how do i get windows to load in safe mode?!

Any assistance would be much appreciated, thanks.

LC
