In the past day, and since I installed MS Office Home and Student (installed yesterday) there is a big central white box that appears in the middle of my desk top for about 1/2 second, and this occurs right after the desktop appears. That white box is a new problem since I installed Office. ALSO problematic is the fact that I have to wait an extra minute before I get internet access.
Just after booting and just after the desktop appears, the internet icon shows up, as usual, in the system tray. But what is new is that a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark appears on top of the internet icon. The yellow triangle stays there for about 1 minute and I don't have internet access. Finally, the yellow triangle disappears and I do have internet access.
The Comcast (my isp) telephone support person says that it is not a problem with Comcast equipment. "MS Office Home and Student" support people say that such a problem is not due to the new Office install.
Yes, this is not a monumental problem, but I would like to get to the bottom of it, since I have already spent about a day trying to solve it.
