so im running windows 7 on an i3 2nd gen with 4gbs ram. the computer will operate smoothly up untill about 30 mins after boot. then the system will become suddenly unresposive. icons still click, menus still open, but actions do nothing. it will not start any new process such as IE, firefox, or anything else. no windows will open when attempting to view a folder or when trying to access control pannel. task manager will not start. ctrl+alt+del wont even do anything. the computer will not even shut of normally and will get stuck in a black screen with the mouse cursor visible. oh and the best part... no error codes.( i think it fails to even bring them up.) however, programs will continue to run so long as they were opened before the system goes unresponsive. i attempted troubleshooting by watching the resource monitor and noticed some unusual activity. after about 30 mins, the image name svchost.exe (with no parenthesis afterward) will gradually start eating up memory until it hits about 991,228 kb. if i attempt to end it, i get an error access is denied. also system restore did not fix this issue nor did sfc /scannow. i just need a pointer to the right direction. what could possibly be causing this?
