My mother-in-law's Acer Aspire 5715Z (Pentium Dual CPU T2330 @ 1.6 GHz RAM 2) with OEM Vista Home Premium 32 Service Pack 2 also has XP installed in a dual boot configuration. We would like to move the machine up to Win 7 to get rid of the dual boot and run the XP stuff like Office under the Win 7 platform.
However, Acer no longer supports an upgrade to anything but Win 8 and we don't want to go there. Also, I read about so many problems moving from Vista up to Win 7.
My questions:

My questions:
- Is it worth it to try to upgrade or should we leave the machine alone?
- What is the best way to upgrade? Wipe the disk and go with a new OEM Win 7 32 bit that we can buy from Amazon?
