Certain images can't print via Photo Printing wizard.

So I have a client at a law office that at a certain point a group of pictures can't be printed via the Photo Printing Wizard. When I tried to do it I get an error that says "Your pictures can't be printed because this error occurred" That's all it says. After doing some Googling I see the photowiz.dll referenced a lot and the fix is to copy an old version of the dll/wizard. I do that and it works....kind of. I don't get the error anymore, but the print previews are like some one's taken a small part of the picture and stretched it out to that print size. And it prints that way too. No amount of Googling can show me the solution.

But wait there's more.

After talking with the client, I find out that she had another gal try it on her computer.
Same problem.

So I thought maybe the files got corrupted. I'll grab the backup from last week and try those ones.
Same stinking problem.

So I get the idea to just open them in paint and save them as a new file and format.
Nope.

What about opening them in paint, CTRL+A, CTRL+C, new paint file, CTRL+V?
Yes. This for whatever reason works.

What the heck is going on? It can't be the files because I've tried with their backups from a week ago. It can't be the computer because nothing was done to it on that day.

P.S. Running Windows 7 x64.
