My Packard Bell iPower laptop was working fine last night. Turned it on this morning and it would not boot beyond the Packard Bell boot screen. The progress bar at the bottom got to about 80% (no progress meter, just my assumption) and the boot into Windows 7 would not happen.
I tried hitting F10 and hit the Start Windows 7 option. No go.
I then hit F10 and ran the memory diagnostic tool which got to 99% and remained there for more than anhour. I took both memory sticks out and swapped them over in slots. No dice and so I put them back in the originals slots. Still no dice. I tried disconnect power, battery out and press on button. No dice.
I ran Packard Bell recovery management off the recovery discs and off PBRM on the laptop (presumably within PBRM seperate partition). I chose the option the retain documents in C:backup that the recovery tool creates. No dice. It gets so far and after about 30 minutes, it comes up with an error message ending in 0000045d, saying it cannot proceed any further and to shut down.
Any ideas anyone please? :banghead:
