Able to set all users to share the same default data folders?

Fixing up my parents' old laptop, installed an SSD and reinstalled Windows. Due to small SSD storage, I am moving the default data folders to the secondary 320 HDD. I'm not moving the entire C:\Users folder (so as to keep the \appdata and similar on the SSD), just plan to use the location tab on folder properties for My Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, Desktop, and Downloads.

I'd also like to set up all users to use the same folders, so that all their programs would default to the same location--iow, both users would share the same pictures/video/documents folders instead of having their own. Would this cause any problems, either in programs having issues with the default location, or sharing/ownership conflicts?

For example, I want the pictures folder for BOTH Account1 and Account2 to be D:\Pictures, and not have separate pictures folders under C:\Users\Account1 and C:\Users\Account2.

Alternatively, I could set both users to default to the Public folders, if there's a way to do that.

I know this is a basic question, but I'm not terribly familiar with Windows file sharing and permissions and whatnot. I don't want to break something and then have to remotely troubleshoot a situation. Thank you!
