Win 7 Home Premium, SP-1, 8gb RAM, 2 hard drives 0=500GB 1=300GB (split into 3 even drives)
Having no problems until this morning when it failed to start - "Error Loading OS".
I tried using my repair disk from 01/08/12 - FAILED. I tried repairing with the original MS 7 install disk - FAILED. I was able to get to the DOS prompt and found 6 drives (a new one has been added!).
C:\ is now "system reserved" (0 bytes, 64,868,352 bytes free)
D:\ is now "backup" (it used to be E)
E:\ is now "video" (it used to be F)
F:\ is now "photos" (it used to be G)
G:\ has no label - it appears that is where the C drive files went
H:\ is now the DVD (it used to be D)
Have looked at a few <DIR> in the G drive and found what I suspect believe is all the windows files. I was able to verify My Documents and My Desktop inside the G:\DIR.
I hope it's not a bug - I'm using MS Security Essentials with automatic updates. Last full scan with Malwarebytes, MS Security Essentials, Spybot, PC Pitstop Exterminate on Sunday the 17 with nothing found. Disk Cleanup, CCleaner, and Defraggler all ran during this month with no problems found.
It would be nice if I could get this thing working without reinstalling Windows 7 but it that is the only option all my stuff is backed up with Carbonite (not the mirror image option - just files).
Is there a fix to my problem?
