I store all of my media files (photos, music, etc.) on an external hard drive attached via usb to my router. This way, the files are accessible to all the computers on my home network. My problem is that I can't figure out how to back up this drive.
I have mapped the network drive, and it is visible and accessible via Windows Explorer. However, neither the Windows Backup software nor the backup software that came with my WD My Passport drive (which is attached to my desktop via usb and is the one I back up to), show the drive in the list of drives displayed when selecting files to back up.
It seems that this would be a fairly common configuration and therefore there must be a solution, but I sure can't figure out what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
