Desktop Window Manager stoppped working

I get the following error on windows 7 on startup - "Desktop Window Manager stopped working and was closed"
The attached is a snippet of my System Information

I've carried out the following:

1) Full virus scan N360 - no problems detected
2) Updated and engaged the NVIDIA drivers
3) sfc /scannow - no problems detected
4) Ran the Windows update/repair disc
5) Video test: i.e. (HOME PAGE OF MISHA CHERKES) I use 5 monitors fed from 3 GeForce210 cards. I ran Full tests (all other boxes unchecked). Ran several of these on 'Expres 15%', 'Full', '8MB', 'DirectX' and 'CUDA' - all came back with zero errors.
6) Tested the memory (Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool) without any errors [let this run for 2 passes]
Aero troubleshooting - nothing detected
7) When I start from Safe Mode I don't get the "Desktop Window Manager stopped working". But some stuff does come up on the "Event Viewer"

Now, when I start normally is the list of errors that occur - (from Event Viewer) see snap shot
i) WMI Application (see snip)
i)) Dwn.exe application
iii) DCOM (2 snips)
iv) Dwn.exe
v) Service control manager (4 snips)
vi) NetBT (2 snips)
