I've been having trouble with my Logitech M525 mouse - the latest version of SetPoint wasn't saving my custom settings.
So, I tried uninstalling SetPoint using what used to be called "add/remove programs." I got an error message that said, "An invalid argument was encountered." I then got a blank Logitech Master Installer window that hangs.
Next, I went to the SetPoint subdirectory and clicked on Uninstall.exe, and that hung as well.
That left deleting the whole Setpoint directory, which I know isn't always a smart thing to do ... I did a Norton Registry Cleaner scan, which removed two keys that could no longer find the files, and I emptied the Recycle Bin. I figured that would fix it, and I could proceed by reinstalling an earlier version of SetPoint. Wrong.
When I tried that, I got a message saying that I already have a newer version installed, and the installation ended.
So, I went back to "add/remove programs," and there it was, still on the list. Clicked uninstall (even though I know there aren't any files on the hard drive except the installation .exe files) and I got the same error message.
The only other thing I can think of is that there are still SetPoint registry keys that are preventing creation of a fresh slate for a new installation. Can I just delete the SetPoint registry entries, or is that playing with fire? Any other suggestions?
Thanks ...
