I like to run my laptop and desktop on the same desk so I can game on one rig and run browsers/music players/Excel sheets/etc on the other. So I kinda like having a dark screensaver on the desktop's monitors so they don't glare out my laptop's screen. Problem is, the screensaver keeps locking my desktop, which causes it to ignore networked mouse input- I use Synergy to run both rigs with the same mouse and keyboard, which are plugged into the laptop- and prevents me from activating it til I plug the mouse into it directly and click the icon.
I uncheck the box, even go into RegEdit to reset the 'screensaverissecure' value to 0, but for some reason, it keeps getting changed back to 1, and my desktop once again locks itself. I don't use a login password on the desktop, so the lock is pointless. I don't even need to click the icon when booting, just when that tricksy little 0 turns back into a 1.
So the main question here is: Any idea what programs might be resetting the 'screensaverissecure' value back to 1? I have my eyes on Avast! antivirus, but I'm not completely sure, as I havent seen or heard of any settings like this. I am administrator (and sole user) on both machines.
