won't boot, doesn't BSOD, just goes to a blank screen and sits there. Normal as well as safe mode.
Going to startup repair, it shows problem signature 07 as a bad driver.
Can't boot, therefore can't do a repair install.
SFC /scannow says there is a pending repair that requires reboot, but the repair never solves. I forced it via the CD with switches, and it said it found no issues with the file system.
I tried running DISM with the cleaner options (I forget the lengthy script) and it ran successfully, but no change.
It's an AMD system, Has a Ti 550 graphics card (no onboard graphics) and a PCI-e 1394 for expansion. But safe mode should load generic drivers, shouldnt it? I'm not sure why it can't get in.
I'm at a loss for thoughts. I have the operating system disk, but don't want to have to replace all the programs on the computer. System restore points are turned on, but the recovery system can't find any restore points.
Any ideas?
