Old 98 installer not responding in W7-64

Hi guys

I'm having trouble installing some old software on my machine which has W7-64 SP1 installed.

I know it should install as others have it working on the same OS

If I double click, or right click and run as admin (on the setup.exe) then the circular 'hourglass' pops up for maybe 5 seconds, then nothing.

I can see the setup.exe*32 running in the task manager, but it never goes anywhere.

I have tried several compatibility modes to no avail.


The software in question is AN1Xedit which is a software editor for a Yamaha synthesizer.
