I am supposed to be using my computer for work in a couple weeks and they needed me to uninstall my kaspersky software and get windows essentials so I used the kaspersky uninstaller found on their website and it looked like it uninstalled the program but the uninstaller kept running for some reason so I closed it and downloaded windows essentials and tried running that. It ran for a while and fed me back an error saying I had another windows installer running on my computer and so I decided to restart my computer. When I went to do that I saw I had some windows updates that had downloaded so I told them to install. I then left and when I got back to start up my computer it ran the last of the install for the windows updates and booted fully into windows but my keyboard and mouse no longer work at all. I tried to hook up a PS2 keyboard and mouse but that still did not work. I tried booting into all the versions of safe mode but still the same problem. The keyboard and mouse and all my USB plugs seem to work just fine while navigating through stuff right up until my computer fully boots into windows. I have tried boot repair but it says nothing needs repairing and I tried to run a system restore as well. The system restore point was earlier in the day right before it installed the "critical update" but when I run it it goes for a while then feeds back a hex error telling me that one or more files could not be restored.
Please please please help me I have run out of ideas and really need this fixed without formatting if at all possible!
