Hello, sorry this is long, i would be very greatful if someone could help.
So, I'm having issues with my computer which i built, Not sure if its my hard drive or if its a virus. I really can't afford to lose any data on my hard drive, only if it is completely last resort.
Recently i had issues which i posted HERE and i was able to fix it, i simply just did more scans and removed infected files.
It was fine for a few days, then 2 days ago i noticed things where a little slow firefox kept stop responding, as did steam, i left it overnight to download a game on steam, and a few hours later i woke (must have been the noise of the fans) and i figured i would just turn off my computer. When i turned on my monitor, loged in, steam had just closed. It wasnt running.
I just turned off my computer, but it took an unusualy long time to shut down. I really didn't know what was going on, I had turned of my monitor and was in bed, so i dont know if windows was updating or anything.
SO, the next day, i turned on my computer, it started to run, then it gave me:
"Windows Error Recovery. Windows failed to start, fix or start windows normally"
I clicked start normally the first time, then it gave:
"Windows boot manager, Windows failed to start, a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. insert your windows installation disc...
... Status: 0xc000000f, Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible"
I tried again and chose to repair, gave the same boot manager error message.
I attempted to insert my windows installation disc, but when i clicked "repair my computer" it gave a message box with "This disc is not compatable with the version of windows on this computer" or something along those lines.
Ive tried rebooting a few times, I was in the bios and made sure that the computer is booting from the HDD and not the disc drive, i unplugged the disk drive and tried to boot incase it was the (cheap) disc drive broken.
Heres some quick info:
HDD: Western Digital - 1 TB Caviar Blue (3.5 inch)
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz 3.80GHz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium - it was OEM software (maybe why i couldnt repair?)
Need any other info let me know, sorry i probably could have made this shorter but i had troubles for a few days. Sorry!
Thanks, please help!
