Cannnot open email attachments

After performing a disk clean up I noticed that I cannot open up email attachments. I don't know if that had anything to do with it..the notice bar still shows up at the bottom but no longer gives me the option to save, or, I don't get the bar. This also seems to occur when I am on websites and cannot open up something on there.
