Somehow I deleted some raster system font (*.fon) of Windows7.
Therefore, a few programs used fixedsys.fon as a compensation, which sometimes bothers.Available lists include only vector fonts, eg. here:

Can be found somewhere a list of required fonts for oswin7, including raster?

At another topic I asked for the system fonts, which according to the sfc command and the manual control of Windows/fonts folder are fine.
The issue with bad font persist, see screenshot here

One application uses a font for the dialogues, which when is missing makes those sw uncontrollable. Does anyone know what font it can be, and why makes that mess?

I have this "My Music (19)" title thats right over my music shortcut folders in the "Music" library on my Windows 7 machine. The other libraries don't have "My Pictures" or "My Documents" or "My Videos" written over them, so why does my music have it?

I just installed a new OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 , But problem is that Laptop works Very slow first 15 minutes after Login.

I have 2 PCs running Vista but one of them was more up-to-date than the other, so I decided to use Macrium Reflect v6.3 to sync them. I successfully created a differential image backup of my more current PC and saved it to an external HDD. When I used the Macrium PE 3.1 rescue disk and pointed it to this Macrium backup, after 3 hours I received a report that the restore to the second Vista PC completed successfully. However, when I tried to boot this second PC I received a BSOD with a STATUS code: 0xc000000f and a STOP code: 0x0000007B and an error message: "THE BOOT SELECTION FAILED BECAUSE A REQUIRED DEVICE IS INACCESSIBLE".
The PC I attempted to restore to was functioning fine (under Vista) with no problems but now Macrium will not let it boot (since it terminates with a BSOD).

Hello Everyone, as mentioned i have the safe mode directly into my boot menu. but it no longer will open, it goes straight to the window start up. how can i get safe mode to boot from the menu? Thanks

Every so often I get a screen from something called Reimage that says my PC has critical errors and to download their app to fix. What is this - is it a scam? I only get it on one of my Vista PCs. I keep reading mixed reviews about this app. How do I get rid of it w/o actually using the app. (I must admit that this PC is slow and at times crabby. What can I run instead of Reimage? Does Microsoft have anything that fixes problems?)

Running Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 11. Some time back I some how changed two settings that I like very much. Before when I was asked to enter my email address in a login page or my Microsoft email I would type the first letter r and it would give me an option with the full email address. Now when I want to enter my email account or put my email address in a webpage login window I have to type the hole address out. Can someone tell me what I changed over time to make this do that?
I went to Tools, internet options, content and autocomplete, and settings, and the box for, username & password on forums and ask before saving passwords are both checked.
What another thing to check?

So i have had this problem for a few months now and normally I would just end the process and it would be good for a few days, but as of last night svchost.exe (local service) is running using 5,352,768K of my memory and the process is unkillable due to receiving the access is denied error message.
I've run scans with both MSE and Malwarebytes to no avail for finding any viruses that could be causing this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first run it told me it did not install Error 1603 and I tried again. Then it uninstalled the old version. In both cases the result told me it was unsuccessful.
I restarted and found that the destination folder was occupied turns out that both versions were still listed there but not in the control panel. I put them in the trash.
I also followed the secondary instruction to use the Java Control Panel but it was not found when I did as instructed on the Java site.
I restarted & tried to reinstall again no luck. Restart again no luck. I have the download on my desktop.
The current folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_121
indicates the program is there but it does not show in control panel. Pic attached
???????? I have no idea what I should do.

Ever since yesterday, I keep getting the following message:

I don't know what program this belongs to, but I ran an antivirus scan (quick, not full) and nothing came up. This message is extremely annoying as it will pop up multiple times (around 5 - 7) a day if I don't minimize it. A full restart of the computer doesn't sole the problem and I don't see anything suspicious in msconfig/startup.
My antivirus program is Panda Free Antivirus v. 16.0.2. I did a quick online search for PSEvents and found an article claiming that it's a Panda program, but I don't know what to make of it. Also, PSEvents isn't psevents.exe, as attempting to run that program yields an error message saying that Windows can't find it.
How do I get this annoying pop-up to go away?

Hi there, I hope everyone is well.
I have a strange issue that started happening recently. System restore doesn't help as it happens with multiple machines.
I have a lobby display running from TV via HDMI to EXTRON to Ethernet and back again to the computer in the server room. I have had this setup for a little over a year now working just fine. We recently got a new computer (We lease) for the lobby display and after setting it up, I only see a black screen with a white cursor. I have troubleshot this a little too much that I am now not sure if it's a windows update, video card update, or possible the EXTRON. However, when hooking up a laptop it works just fine as it should.
Please note that I can see post boot and the CTRL ALT DELETE screen just fine, but once logged in I just see cursor. If someone moves cursor I can see it from the lobby display. If I uninstall the video card driver I see everything perfectly fine but when running presentation it's not focused for obvious reasons, so I can't leave it like that.
I have used a Desktop with AMD and latest drivers as well as down graded drivers, issue still is present. I use an older nvidia card FX570, same deal with drivers, still the issue is present. I use a new computer with a new nvidia card, and it works. but unfortunately we do not have any of those available and that's a really expensive machine.
here is where it gets even more strange;
If I hook the computer up directly to the TV and not behind the extron device, it works, both with AMD and nvidia. As of right now I have a laptop running behind the extron and it's displaying just fine.
OS: Win7 and Win10 have been tested on.
Can anyone help me with this or give me some other troubleshooting suggestions? I am at a loss and definitely need help!

Hello!
Few days ago I downloaded "pygame". Few hours after some annoying seen-on-screen.thewhizmarketing.com and gogamego.thewhizproducts.com pop-up ads started coming up in Google Chrome.
I've tried:
1. Deleting "pygame"
2. Deleting Google Chrome browsing history
3. Setting Google Chrome to defaults
4. Scanning PC with 4 different antiviruses.
But still, those annoying ads are keep coming and coming.

When I insert a CD or DVD into TSSTcorpCD/DVDW TS-H6532 I get the following message indicating non-recognition by WinVista:
Insert a disc into drive R:
I have tried the following and all have failed:
Registry, delete LowerFilters and HighFilters
BIOS OK
Replace LowerFilters value with PxHelp20 DEADLY :angry: Registry rollback required
Device Mgr: uninstall/reinstall driver
Audio devices are working
Please help ME. If you want details on the routine checks for audio output I did I'll be glad to post them.

This is driving me absolutely crazy the past few months since I started my new job.
I need to have a program running on the computer at work that simply keeps track of everyone in the building who uses their access cards to get into various rooms. It is essentially a pointless program yet I have to keep it running no matter what. The problem is whenever someone uses an access card, the program on the computer steals the focus, and it appears there's nothing I can do.
The program steals focus about 1500 times per shift, if that gives you any idea of how annoying it can be when I actually have work to do. The amount of times I have been writing an email and 2 lines later, realize no typing was registered...
I do not have administrator privileges on this work computer, nor is there any option on the program itself to stop it from stealing the focus every time someone uses their access card.
Any ideas as to how I can stop this from happening? Running Windows 7 by the way.

I am trying to install Windows 7 on a friend's laptop, brand new 500GB hard drive in the laptop, hard drive works just fine, I put it up on my USB to ATA bridge. I insert a Windows 7 install disc into the laptop and it will not boot from that Windows 7 disc, it tells me that there is no boot device when nothing could be further from the truth. There is a Windows 7 DVD in the drive. the Windows 7 DVD works in other computers, and the laptop boots into Gparted just fine. and I made sure that this drive is indeed a DVD drive.
A bit of searching around only led to problems with people's hard drives getting corrupt and cannot boot into Windows. There is no results on this message regarding from an actual install disc.
Anybody know what the problem could be?

Does anyone still play those old Windows card games? :grin:
I used to play Freecell years ago and recently seem to have gotten myself re-hooked! :lol:
Played it for a couple of weeks and got a little bored so went to play Spider Solitaire for a while. Opened Freecell today and the difficulty level is set to high.
When I go to change it, the difficulty level option is missing.

Things I have tried so far;
- Turned Freecell off and back on in Turn Windows features on or off - no change.
- Repeated same with the whole MS games package, rebooting in between - no change.
- Run Sfc Scannow - no integrity violations found.
- System restored as far back as possible - no change.
- Run Adwcleaner and Mbam - no change.
Only found this question asked once in Google results but no satisfactory answer.
Ideas, anyone?

Please help - I have posted this twice - and it doesn't show as a post under my name.
My Outlook Express is sending unauthorised emails as a result of unsolicited inappropriate emails coming to me. Most go into junk mail but I still have to send some to junkmail everyday. So I guess I must have a virus.
Please help me to get rid of both problems. Thanks!

Hello, a few days ago my computer started lagging like crazy. Even when im not playing a game, this happened while i was playing a game which i was playing every day, it happened suddenly, the game started freezing for 10-15 seconds every 5 seconds. Some of my pc specs: 3 gb ram, geforce 210 and amd sempron 2.7 ghz single core(ik they suck). Thing i have tried to do:
1.Restart my computer.
2.Running viruses tests with a lot of programs.
3.Formating my pc.
4.Cleaned the dust from it.
5.Rage quitting :angry: .
I hope you guys can help me, ill do anything you guys need to solve this problem.
