Here's the situation: I'm using a new Lenovo L-A780 motherboard that was purchased used to replace an older motherboard that crapped out. Everything has been working great, but anytime I try to change the SATA configuration to AHCI mode, it doesn't work right - it hangs on a blinking cursor for about five minutes, then says "Active Partition not found!". I have not tried booting from any other media yet, (such as the CD drive) so I don't know at this point if the problem is with the boot drive, Windows, or the motherboard.
No, there is no blue screen or Windows errors that happen before this. Yes, I did doublecheck the "msahci" option in the Registry Editor.
Operating System: Windows 7 SP1 x64
Motherboard: Lenovo L-A780 (BIOS upgraded to the latest)
SATA Drives: Standard DVD burner, archival HDD, and Intel SSD (SSD is the boot drive)
SATA settings: Options include RAID, IDE, AHCI, and "Native" (currently using "native")
Any ideas?
