Hello. Ever since I deep, deep-cleaned my computer, my windows update fails for almost everything.
Almost all of my updates are for Office 2013, which I guess was on my computer previously (I have Office 2016). When I was deep cleaning, I tried removing every trace of 2013). How do I get these updates to not show up for office 2013? They make up the bulk of my failed updates.
I've tried, multiple times, a lot of fixes. I'm just wondering if someone might be able to help me further to get windows update working again. Here are the things I've already tried:
One thing that didn't go smoothly was Reregistering the BITS files and the Windows Update files (by cmd prompt.). Most of them worked, but as an example, for some of them I tried, "Regsvr32.exe xxxx.dll", and I got this error:
"The module "xxxx.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005"
One of the errors said this: "The module failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found."
Here is my notepad file when entering echo > 0 & sc qc wuauserv >> 0 & sc queryex wuauserv >> 0 & sc qc RpcSs >> 0 & sc queryex RpcSs >> 0 & echo >> 0 & notepad 0 into the command line:
ECHO is on.

- I've disabled my antivirus when doing this
- I installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
- I did a Net stop wuauserv then restarting
- sfc /scannow
- Everything here: https://www.infopackets.com/news/960...te-wont-update
- Everything here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058 (the automatic and manual).
